It doesn’t have to be a particular special Christmas for you to channel your creative crafting abilities. Making your own ornaments for your Christmas tree this year can be a fun family activity for you and your children as well.

Not only can you make cherished keepsakes, but you’ll also be making truly heartwarming memories with them. You can keep them with you for generations and even make it a Christmas tradition. Plus, you get to incorporate your own aesthetic and personalize them instead of using store bought ones!

No need to spend money on buying new ornaments for your tree. Invest in affordable arts and craft supplies to deck the halls with products of your own creativity!

Here are some best DIY projects to undertake whole-heartedly this season.

Hanging photographs

Round up a year’s worth of memories and print out pictures of all your favorite moments this year. Whether it’s one of your children graduating from college, the birth of a child/grandchild, getting a new pet, it deserves to be on your tree.

How to make them:

Take small pieces of plywood and paste your printed pictures on top. You can color the plywood so that it looks brighter when you put up the photographs.

You could also place them on the tree, instead of puncturing a hole, simply fold a small piece of ribbon and hot glue it on the back.

You can even place them on your fridge after Christmas is over!

Small trees covered with fabric

These are perfect for putting on top of all your presents as well and look adorable hanging on your tree. Also, they’re super simple to make!

How to make them:

You can either get cardboard shaped ornaments from a craft store or cut out shapes for yourself on cardboard pieces.

Cut out the tree shaped outline on a fabric of your choice. Spread glue on the ornament with a brush and fix the fabric on top.

If any pieces peek from the edges, you can trim them and glue them to calm down frays.

Paper ornaments

These are super fun and easy to make with your children. You can use origami to make whichever shape you want. You can use different sizes of origami paper or even use one of our special metallic origami sheets.

Here are a few of our favorites.

· Paper birds

· Paper Christmas house

· Paper candle

· Marble paper stars

You can even purchase a range of paper Mache ornaments from our online store!

Marble Christmas ornament

You can use our heavy duty glass ball ornament to make simple snow globes and other marble ornaments with your kids!

All you need are three basic colors of acrylic paint and any number of ornaments. Here’s the fun part!

Squeeze any combination of colors in the ornament and place your thumb on the opening after you’re done.

Shake the ornament as much and keep it upside down over a piece of paper or in a glass jar to collect excess paint.
